WHY THE BIBLE?
The Bible is a life-changing book,
- containing reliable historical documents
-1 Peter 1:16 “For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power”
The gap between when the New Testament was written and the earliest copies was 350 years, this being really small compared to other writings. Also these 6000 copies are 99.9% in agreement. Amazing!
-written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses
-1 Peter 1:16, “but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty”
After Jesus resurrected, he appeared to 500 eyewitnesses who all wrote the SAME thing.
- who reported the occurrence of supernatural events
-1 Peter 1:17-18,” He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.”
- which took place as a fulfillment of specific prophecies
-1 Peter 1:19, “We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. “
Jesus fulfilled 300 prophecies and it is thought that fulfilling 8 prophecies is impossible!
- and declared that their writings were divine rather than human in origin
-1 Peter 1:20-21, “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

The Bible is a life-changing book containing reliable historical documents written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses who reported the occurrence of supernatural events which took place as a fulfillment of specific prophecies and declared that their writings were divine rather than human in origin.

Is the Bible trustworthy?
It is written in 3 languages, scattered in 3 continents, written by 40 different authors in a span of 1600 years. YET the Bible carries a cohesive reliable truth of God pertaining to Himself, humans and Jesus.
